María Juliana Ruiz
First Lady of Colombia
Born in Bogotá. She attended Javeriana University where she received her degree as a lawyer.
After graduating, she studied at Institut Catholique, in Paris, and then went to American University, where she obtained a Master of Law with an emphasis in International Business.
She worked at the Organization of American States in Washington and was part of the management team of the Shaio Clinic in Bogotá.
Mrs. Ruiz is National Good Will Ambassador for the SDG 17 and her leadership stands out in nutrition of the body, through the Great Alliance for Nutrition and nutrition of the soul, mobilizing the national cause of zero tolerance to any form of violence against children, adolescents and youth while championing the National Alliance against Violence Towards Girls, Boys and Adolescents. She is a pioneer in mobilizing and articulating actions benefiting young people through the Sacúdete strategy and in making visible and promoting the impact of national social management, through LUNNA network (Leaders United for Boys, Girls and Adolescents of Colombia).
